Information
This community stage meetup is aimed at project managers and principal investigators working on EuroHPC Joint Undertaking projects.
These collaborative initiatives bring together diverse partners, ambitious scientific and technical goals, and complex accountability requirements. To navigate these challenges, effective project management must operate on two fronts: strong internal coordination within the consortium and clear, timely and complete communication with the granting authority throughout the project lifetime.
In this meetup, project officers from EuroHPC and experienced project managers from the HPC community come together for an open, interactive dialogue on what effective project management really looks like, both externally and internally. Through this shared discussion, participants will explore common challenges, compare expectations, and exchange practical approaches to running successful EuroHPC projects.
The meetup opens with a short insights segment from EuroHPC project officers, highlighting recurring issues observed across funded projects throughout the project lifetime, from grant agreement preparation to final reporting. This is followed by a perspective from an experienced consortium project manager, who will openly share internal coordination do’s and don’ts, from setting up effective governance structures to ensuring quality reporting.
The meetup continues into its core part of the session is a three-way interactive discussion between EuroHPC project officers, a project coordinator, and the audience. Participants will be invited to contribute their own experiences, ask questions, and challenge assumptions.
The key takeaway for attendees is a co-created set of actionable principles for managing EuroHPC collaborative projects more effectively: clearer communication, stronger internal coordination mechanisms, and reporting practices that meet expectations without unnecessary overhead.
