Information

Quantum computing has enormous potential for new applications. Although today’s quantum computers struggle to solve real-world problems competitively, and powerful, fault-tolerant quantum computers have yet to emerge, widespread adoption of this disruptive technology is crucial. For companies, waiting for fully productive quantum systems entails the risk of lagging behind early adopters once competitive systems become available. For research institutions, the risk is missing opportunities to contribute to the efficient transfer and rollout of this technology. For this reason, many users from both academia and commercial research try to explore the quantum computing domain right now but find it difficult to access. In this BoF, we bring service providers and key users together to provide new users with the services they need to accelerate quantum computing adoption. It covers both technical aspects, like development tools and environments, hardware access and code execution, as well as organizational aspects like training, consulting, and support. The ISC community combines crucial knowledge of quantum computing hardware and software, as well as the provisioning of computing services and use cases. The community also knows how to train and support prospective users of quantum computing. This raises the singular opportunity to get a holistic view of what current-day Quantum-Computing-as-a-Service entails and which gaps need to be filled. The BoF consists of pitches from each of the six organizers in the first 20 minutes of the BoF, each limited to two slides. This allows for 40 minutes of discussion divided into 20 minutes Q&A regarding the presented pitches and 20 minutes open discussion between panel and audience. For both discussion parts, the organizers will prepare questions to involve the audience. In addition, two surveys are planned: the first after the presentations and the second after the first round of discussions

Targeted Audience
The target audience are providers and users of quantum computers. Service providers with an interest in providing quantum computing capabilities, as well as software and hardware providers can pitch their view on what is needed. Furthermore, anyone interested in using these services can contribute meaningfully to the BoF.
