As research computing generates unprecedented volumes of data, many institutions face a growing “data graveyard” problem: valuable datasets outlive the systems that created them and become difficult to discover, manage, or reuse. In this session, Arcitecta will explore how intelligent data orchestration can transform long-term research data preservation from a burden into a strategic asset. We will present how Mediaflux creates a metadata-rich data fabric that connects instruments, storage, compute, and researchers, automatically capturing metadata, unifying storage, and enabling policy-driven automation, so high-value data remains discoverable, governed, and reusable across evolving HPC environments.
