Information
In response to strong interest in 2021-2024, we present the fifth version of our interactive student-centric BoF for students and anyone engaging with students (e.g. mentors and the industry). The session focuses on diverse pathways for aspiring HPC professionals, highlighting study programs, free resources, and essential training opportunities relevant to students and aspiring HPC professionals. Unique features of the BoF include an audience-driven discussion and experience-sharing session. These elements are intended to facilitate meaningful interactions and foster potential collaborations and networking during the BoF and beyond.
The BoF has two main objectives. Firstly, it aims to create a vibrant, interactive environment where participants can engage in meaningful discussions, share experiences, and learn from one another. The session will bring together students from diverse fields of study and higher education levels and peers and mentors who participated in past programs to foster a collaborative exchange of ideas. Secondly, the BoF seeks to help participants build lasting connections and form their own HPC communities by offering resources for collaboration, student-relevant initiatives, and invitations to future HPC events, empowering participants to enhance their expertise and broaden their horizons in the field.
The outcomes of the BoF include greater student engagement with the European HPC community, the opportunity to feed back to the Digital Europe programme those issues impacting student engagement with HPC, the establishment and maintenance of a focal point through which students can build and grow their HPC community, and the opportunity for students to engage with prospective employers.
