Information

This Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF) session invites the attendees to engage in a dynamic discussion about Europe's journey toward achieving self-sufficiency in semiconductor manufacturing and digital autonomy. The session will open with a a live poll displayed on the screen as attendees take their seats "Is Europe doing enough to achieve self-sufficiency in semiconductor manufacturing?" Results will be shown in real time, setting the stage for a thought-provoking dialogue. The first segment will consist of brief two-minute presentations on the goals and achievements of key European projects—EPI, EUPEX, EUPILOT, and DARE, and then following the foundational overview, the session will delve into the critical question: "How do these projects support Europe’s strategic goals for digital autonomy?" In just five minutes, this segment will bridge the gap between aspirations and actionable pathways, emphasizing the transformative impact of coordinated efforts.

Subsequently, the focus will shift to interactive community discussions - structured into two 20-minute segments designed to maximize audience participation.
Using Mentimeter as a tool for real-time input, voting, and question submission, participants will explore two key topics:
• The challenges and opportunities in achieving European digital autonomy.
• The potential for collaborative innovation across these projects to build a unified European ecosystem.
This crucial segment of this session aims to foster dialogue between project representatives and the audience, ensuring a participatory environment where everyone can share insights, propose strategies, and identify critical areas for synergy.

The BoF session will conclude with a five-minute segment titled “What are the critical areas where synergies between these projects can drive the most impact?” summarizing the critical areas where synergies between these projects can drive the most impact.

Why Attend?
This BoF session is more than just a discussion; it is a rallying point for stakeholders who believe in Europe’s potential to lead the future of semiconductor and HPC innovation.
