Information

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has rapidly advanced its high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities to support ambitious national goals in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation. In recent years, the UAE became the first country to appoint a Minister of State for AI and launched a National AI Strategy 2031, underscoring a commitment to lead in AI and advanced technology. HPC infrastructure is recognized as a cornerstone for these ambitions, providing the massive computational power needed for training large AI models, running complex simulations, and handling big data workloads. As of 2025, the UAE’s HPC landscape is defined by cutting-edge supercomputing systems, GPU-accelerated AI clusters, and specialized research centers that place the country at the forefront of AI-driven HPC in the region. This talk surveys the current state of HPC in the UAE – focusing on government initiatives, academic and industry leaders, and how HPC is fueling AI and advanced computing applications across the nation.
