For over 60 years, the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) has been a world-class HPC centre providing top-tier IT infrastructure to a diverse scientific community, from students to renowned researchers, across disciplines like astrophysics, engineering, life sciences, and digital humanities. Located in Garching near Munich, LRZ is a leading HPC and HPDA facility offering national and European-level supercomputing resources. It supports users with specialised HPC code portability and scalability expertise while ensuring energy-efficient operations. LRZ is also at the forefront of future computing, exploring quantum technologies and integrating AI into large-scale HPC systems. Alongside its role as a national centre, LRZ serves as the IT backbone for Munich universities and Bavarian research organisations, complemented by extensive education programmes in HPC, AI and big data.
