The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) funds UK and international science and manages large scale UK research facilities across a vast array of scientific disciplines.
STFC is responsible for the UK contribution in many large-scale international science programmes and has a fundamental role in the delivery of high-performance computing projects of national significance such as ExCALIBUR and the UKRI Digital Research Infrastructure programme.
The STFC Hartree Centre works with UK industry and the public sector to accelerate the adoption of supercomputing, data science, AI and quantum computing for enhanced productivity, innovation and economic growth.
STFC Scientific Computing has a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to addressing complex research and development challenges; and generates new technologies and discoveries that have real-world applications to benefit people worldwide.
STFC is part of UK Research and Innovation, a non-departmental public body of the UK Government which funds and carries out scientific research and innovation in fields from computing and particle physics to space and astronomy.
